One of my 30 in 30 was to watch the sun set over the Pacific. My best friend’s husband took this picture of me capturing the sunset with his iPhone. I love it. Rarely do I get pictures of me. I am so much better behind the lens. However once in a while I love a picture someone took of me and this one is one of them.A big weekend ahead. I turn 30 tomorrow and I can’t wait to see my family!
I am recovering from traveling 18 hours overnight from California to Philadelphia. It was three flights a few delays but I got home around noon and went to bed. I woke up 5 hours later and did some photography work. I am planning to have a booth at a bridal show in West Chester in March. I also went to the grocery store because I have been out of town for the last two weeks and needed to get some healthy foods. We are supposed to get 6 – 10 inches of snow tomorrow so I am going to make this amazing butternut squash soup. My favorite housewife made it while I was visiting. Not only is it healthy it is super tasty.
I am on my way home from California. I have two more flights and 10 hours until I finally arrive in Philadelphia.Today before I left we had an official photo shoot with Brayden. His daddy leaves for Deployment next week for 8 months so we wanted to make sure we got some pictures before he left. We got some with Brayden with his Daddy’s hat. This is by far my favorite picture I took the entire time I was in California.
I needed a little photo shop help today and some of my photography friends came to the rescue. I will post them all when they all come in. I love all I have seen so far but this is by far my favorite. Steph Allen of Steph Allen Photography helped me with the post process on this. One of my goals for 2011 is to learn more about photoshop and lightroom.
I accomplished 3 of 30 things on Sunday that I wanted to do for my 30th birthday.#3. Spend an entire day unplugged. No phone, no internet, no email, and no FB! I know it is my birthday and I shouldn’t do things that will make me crazy, but I think this is a good challenge! – DONE! Just as hard as I expected. All day I wanted to update FB, check the internets, text, or email. I need to be better about this. I am way too connected. I need to live more in the moment and enjoy my surroundings!#10. Dip my feet in the Pacific Ocean (hello freezing!) – Done and it wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be. It felt really good.#14. Watch the sunset on the beach and capture it in pictures. – Amazing, Breath taking, Fabulous all rolled into one! We drove to the coast today and spent the day at the beach. I am so glad I was able to accomplish so many of my goals in one day.Brayden also got to experience his first trip to the beach. He dipped his toes in the sand and got to watch the sun set on the Pacific with us as well. Before the sunset we went to Piedras Blancas where the seals come to the beach from December until March to breed. There were hundreds of them and hundreds of seal pups are born during this time.
I got an email a few months ago from my best friend Devon in California. She had been looking for months for a simple picture of different fruits. She didn’t want busy just plain and bold. She asked if I could just photograph some fruit for her kitchen wall. I told her I would do it when I came to visit in January. So yesterday we headed to the store to buy different kinds of fruits. We ended up with Granny Smith Apples, Lemons, and some kind of orange/tangerine mix. Then we came home to her house and tried to find the perfect container and place to photograph them. We pulled out every serving dish and bowl. We finally decided on arrangement, size, etc. It took us hours. I am much better with people than fruit. I think they turned out nice and she is excited to get them printed and framed.
