I know I haven’t posted in a long time. Things have been really busy and even though that isn’t a good excuse it is the truth. I am going to try and blog more. I am in Colorado for Huck’s first birthday. I will be taking lots and lots of pictures here. Then when I head home I have some shoots scheduled in the next few weeks that I will be sure to share. I also have some new products I want to share. I promise it is all coming. For now Huck after school today. I broke him out early and figured this outfit was fitting.
I am still in Colorado and as I sit here there is 10 inches of snow on the ground outside. Huck is at school, his Papa is at work, his mom and baby brother are upstairs sleeping. Today Cole is exactly a week old. I have a few more days here in Colorado before I head home. I feel like I should pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming and that I really am this lucky to be here. To be able watch these boys grow and be a part of their family. I am grateful for 7 am music sessions, baby kisses, yummy meals, and most of all spending time in a house full of love. These boys are going to grow so fast, but I plan to be a part of that. I told their mama yesterday as we sat in the waiting room of the Doctor’s office for Cole’s first Doctor’s visit that I sometimes have to catch my breath when I think of all of the history between her husband and I. That Mike and I have known each other our entire lives. Every milestone has been celebrated together. Family is amazing and to truly love to be around them is an even bigger blessing.
I decided to enter the “I heart faces” photo contest this week. The theme is a slice of life. I had the perfect picture.
I volunteered to do night duty for the cutest Huck in all of the world. He was a great boy and slept until 4 am. Had a bottle and then went right back to sleep. He woke up at 7:30 ready to start his day. He got to see his Papa before he headed to work and then we started the day. We had a bottle, played in our Monkey Jumper and then had Rice Cereal with Apple Sauce and Rice Chex Cereal for the first time. His Aunt and Uncle bought him a dinosaur walker for Christmas and it arrived yesterday. Huck is starting to walk at 8 months old. Too sweet! It was a great morning. Now he is off for his nap. He is the best 7 am wake up call I have ever gotten!
Today we woke up and headed over to Huck’s Gigi’s house to meet up with his cousins Bailey and Brecken. When we got there we got right to work on getting some shots of the babies. I am really happy with the results and I had an audience while I worked today. I think that my family got a good look into what it takes to get pictures of little ones. We had a blast and then headed into Boulder for lunch with Huck’s dad. We ate at a really good Latin restaurant in Boulder called Centro. We had Pumpkin Lobster Soup, Homemade chips and guacamole, & shrimp tacos. For desert we shared sopapillas and pumpkin ice cream. Oh and really good Margarita’s. It was one of the best meals I have had in a really long time. It was so good I ended up meeting up with my friend Liz and her fiancee Chaz there for dinner. I had a pretty similar dinner but had roasted chicken and didn’t have desert, however I did have really good sangria. Red sangria of course which is one of my favorite drinks. After lunch we did some shopping where I got some fabulous new Uggs. It was a great day filled with Friends and Family. I am going to miss Boulder but am hoping that I start book some weddings and photo shoots out here so I can visit more often.
