The Girl With The Black Thumb

So I did not inherit my mother’s green thumb. She can grow anything. Flowers, herbs, trees, vegetables, people, you know just about anything and everything. I can’t even keep a cactus alive. However, I had paperwhites about 6 years ago and I successful grew them and kept them alive for a short period of time (actually I think my ex had something to do with that, but I am going to believe it was a fluke and I actually did it.)  I will let you all in on a not so little secret. I still haven’t unpacked my house since May when I moved. I have gone through them all, donated what I can to my friend Sara’s basement, thrown out the junk and now I just need to move the remaining boxes to storage aka my mother’s house. Maybe this weekend, because I have some free time. Anyway back to the plants I decorated with for the holidays. I decided I am not getting a tree, I probably won’t put out any decorations, there is still nothing hung on my walls, but I needed to plant an Amaryllis and some paper whites! So that is just what I did.

I plan to take pictures of my progress.

These flowers, the bowls, and of course my grandparent’s desk (which is part of their bedroom suite from the 1930’s)  just make me smile and really isn’t that all that is important.
